January/February
2002
Wednesday
Found a very strange seashell in front of the house. Reminds me that we
live on a big sandbar.
Thursday
So grateful for dark skies. S & I spent two hours on the front porch
tonight with binocs.
Saturday
Watched an old Elvis beach movie, then went shelling. Big day for whelks,
but came across no crooners with sideburns.
Sunday
Nemo lazed in the shade while S did yard work. I did my part with fresh
lemonade.
Tuesday
C&G finally back after holidays. Had a celebration dinner at Sunshine.
Talked about sailing next weekend.
Thursday
Early tennis with NW. Shes trying to get me to play golf. Obviously
shes never seen me hit a golf ball.
Saturday
Stayed home experimenting in the kitchen with key limes.
Sunday
S and I got out in a sailboat with C&G. A perfect afternoon10
to 15 knots and a dolphin. Bliss.
Monday
Am trying a whole week without TV. I always enjoy it on vacationwhy
not at home?
Wednesday
S took me for a golf-cart ride around Captiva. Stopped into Green Flash
to have some bisque.
Friday
NW dared me to sing karaoke. She didnt know what she was starting!
Saturday
S & I drove to Arcadia to look at antiques. Had pie at Wheelers.
Drove through Alva and Olga on the way home. Olde Florida is something.
Tuesday
M&B coming over for dinner tonight. Looking forward to eating by candlelight
on the back porch.
Thursday
Weather is perfect. Having my annual gotta-get-a-hot-tub urges.
Friday
Baby tree frog on our window tonight. Longest toes Ive ever seen.
Tuesday
S & I decided to sneak down to Naples before the holidays. Booked
a room on Fifth Avenue.
Thursday
Went to hear Danny Morgan tonight. Lots of romantics on the dance floor.
He definitely makes people happy to be here.
Sunday
Just back from Naples. Fifth Avenue galleries were a blast. Third Street
South had live jazz, great fooda perfect getaway an hour from home.
Wednesday
Long beach walk with Ellen. We solved the worlds problems and found
lots of miniatures.
Saturday
Full moon; probably wont see Nemo for three days. Even tuna cant
keep him inside.
Monday
Went to the beach and took digital shots for all my friends up north who
are still cold. Everyone below 60 degrees gets a photo. Gee
thats
still everyone!
Tuesday
Receiving a mix of good-humored grumbling and thanks for the e-mailed
beach shots. Living here is lucky, lucky, lucky.
